Sunday Six: Pasta, Peaches, (broken) Pottery, and a Toe Ring

Coordination fail.

I've been feeling super hippy lately, so a toe ring appeared appropriate.

The wind on Friday was furocious, and, unfortunately, the sign hanging outside my front door that I painted at one of those paint-your-own pottery places broke. I find the symbolism in a broken "Life is Good." sign to be solid.
Dinner last night. Pasta with roasted veggies.. a loose adaptation from Smitten Kitchen.
Coordinates well with my table cloth, yes?

Peach pie was also on the menu last night. It was very impromptu as well and, surprisingly, it was very good.

Wonderfully and Beautifully Made: Lenten Makeup Exodus Day 30

This is day 30 sans-makeup.

I'm starting to think about why I ever wore makeup in the first place. Seriously.

Hang on with me here, okay?

It's kind of like eating fast food or doing anything else harmful to your body. It's junk. Don't worry, I love me some Whataburger, but we know it's junk, but we still eat it (some of us) and don't care. Makeup hurts your face. And we put it on, because we like it, and the benefits appear to outweigh the consequences.

I'm discovering that they really don't. Keep in mind that I'm only pushing 23, but I've began to notice that I'm starting to get a natural flush to my cheeks that I never had when I wore blush. All the blemishes and other yuckies that were the reason I wanted to wear makeup in the first place, are virtually gone.

Just like wealth, possessions, and wants, it's another worldly thing that separates us from being the way we were wonderfully and beautifully made.
